My story
As a mother I gained 15kg with my 3rd pregnancy and continuously battled to lose it. While raising my family another 20kgs crept on. As a Grandmother I caught my reflection in the mirror whilst playing with my grandson. I was shocked and ashamed.
I was overweight, needing medication for high cholesterol and high blood pressure. I felt the pressure on my body and worried I wouldn’t be able to keep up with my grandchildren. The time had come to prioritise my health, stop the cycle, and make some life changes. I saw a segment on the evening news on the success of The 1:1 Diet. I checked out the website, picked my Consultant Kate and started my journey to the healthy me.
It was that easy! I enjoyed the products and even the snacks, I didn’t get bored. I was surprised at how tasty and satisfying the products were and that I was able to get enough nourishment. It was easy sticking to the plan; it was also quite convenient even when at work. I maintained with ease, had new discipline with food and a new sustainable lifestyle. I would often have products for breakfast or lunch and used meal ideas that Kate suggested.
The support was fantastic throughout; always available with handy hints and advice on how to keep on track, Kate was truly interested in the changes I was seeing weekly. Most importantly, I was really committed to the change. Soon enough my weight loss was noticeable, I was complimented regularly on how healthy I looked. Despite a busy work and home life my commitment and consistency to stay on plan paid off, 22kg loss in 12 weeks. I returned to the gym 5 days a week including intense cardio classes. My cholesterol & blood pressure returned to normal.
Although I had been maintaining happily, I decided to challenge myself further to get myself under the 70kg mark. I did it! It really is never too late to make a change. I‘m fit, healthy and able to keep up with my grandchildren.
